our positive habits

Most of us on this tribe don't have deplorable diets. Most of our diets are probably better than that of the average American.
Sure I may go through periods of time where I eat alot of junk food, or have mexican dinners at 3 or four in the morning before going to bed, and I can tend to be impulsiv about unhealthy snacks but I could be a whole lot worse.

Here is a thread where we can list our positive eating habits:

Here are mine:
i try to be vegetarian most of the time
sometimes I juice
I don't eat white bread (though I would like to cut out more wheat)
I don't use artificial sweetners or products that contain them (except for stevia, which isn't bad for you)
I don't drink very many sodas (maybe 1-2 a month)
I don't eat alot of sweets
When I do have a sugar craving, I usually eat one of those chocolate nutritional bars (like pria or luna)
I use extra virgin olive oil in all my cooking.

that is all i can think of off the top of my head.

I've been a year long bad eating binge. Must get back on track! I'd proably have less pain.

It's funny how easily one can slip into a pattern of crappy eating.
When i relapsed from ten years of being a more-or-less strict vegetarian when I was 25 I started a pretty awful dietary era.
I started really craving red meat all the time AND I just happened to work at a really cool ice cream parlor at the time. Gads! Needless to say I blew up like a balloon even though I was riding my bike all over the place like crazy. When working at an ice cream parlor, the ice cream has a magical way of making you eat it even if you don't think you are eating it. It is hard to explain.

Anyhow. My boyfriend at the time was one of those people who ate nothing but red meat, white bread, eggs, cheese and sugar and stayed healthy and rail thin. After switching over more or less to his diet (but with more ice cream included) I quickly gained about 30 lbs.
I lost maybe 20 of those lbs after breaking up with him.

Anyhow..this is not necc. a weight loss tribe bit it happens to be a wee bit of an issue with me...I regard My being 20 -or so lbs. overweight as merely a symptom of my crappy diet.
