He came to our space the other day and cooked a whole bunch of food and put on a demo. He was really funny and nice, but the first thing he said to me was that he was flavor-oriented and alot of what he cooks is "junk food"..deriving many flavors from sugar, salt and oil.. The food he cooked was amazingly good..and did not seem noticably vegan at all..very rich pan-asian stuff..extremely realistic fake meats ets.....however..he used so many processed ingredients, which all had so many additives and preservatives that my head was buzzing like a radio between stations and I started itching all over..It was only me..though..It took over 24 gours for me to start feeling normal again.
I usually don't have such negative reactions even to the worst fast food.
He himself preferred eating fast food to his own cooking, and had us take him to a taqueria after his demo..
I just thought it was ironic since a large reason most people are vegan has to do with the health benefits..
I woulda been more impressed if the food was healthy AND tasted good...

Fri, March 11, 2005 - 4:57 PMBleah..He left all this stuff with us. I accidentally spilled this weird sweet gingery peanut buttery sauce all over the fridge, and in cleaning up the mess I sort of tasted a little bit of it..It was yummy, but instant head fuzz.
