Craving...

After a particularly long night of dabauchery....
We are having a weekend-long music festival and last night the Twinemen played, which consists of former members of Morphine...A Sanny Francisco band played called Veronica Lipgloss and the evil eyes..

Anyhow, after a particularly long night of debauchery, I crave junk food real bad.
I want Jack-In-The Box tacos and it is 9 in the morning.
Will probably ride it out on my bike and go out for coffee and try to find something less harmful to eat.

The show was awesome. Everybody had a good time. Twinemen were amazing. Veronica Lipgloss only played for 5 minutes because they were fighting, I guess...
I need to be extra nice to my liver for the rest of the weekend.
I went out bike riding for garage sales for a couple of hours...
Am no longer craving Jack in the Box tacos.
I now want oranges, coffee and water.

it's amazing how that works, eh? exercises almost always quells unhealthy cravings for me. It seems to breed more of an internal urge for healthiness - I go from wanting a cinnabun to wanting to drink more water and eat a salad.

i had left over chinese food and potato wedges - As well as a diet pepsi.

that was breakfast/lunch. I'll try and do better for dinner.

                    Bike riding sounds wonderfully fun!

I like peanutbutter bananna sammiches on toasted bread with honey. Used to be one of my all-time favorites..Haven't had one in a while though.

Were your potato wedges by any chance from KFC? I am a recovering KFC potato wedge addict.

My bike riding is a by-product of my being unable to drive a car..it is also my main source of exercise-which isn't very good, but better than nothing..i was almost skinny when I was a bike courier.

Anyhow, for lunch I had two bean cheese avodao sour cream tostadas...pretty rich...but comforting..

need to go ride bike to store now.

Am having more issues with craving bad food. THis afternoon I am having to chain myself inside to prevent myself from going to taco bell.
I have been riding pretty hard lately....We have shows every night and now we will work at out day job for the next two weeks...Stress makes me want cheese.

I woke up really stinking early this morning despite having gone to bed late and drinking a buncha wine.
I got alot of stuff accomplished AND i made a bunch of carrot apple beet spinach ginger celery garlic parsely juice...AND I made whole grain/flax seed blackberry almost vegan pannycakes (from Arrowood Mills mix)...I tend to cook alot when we have guests...which we do..from New Orleans

Anyhow, for lunch I had cheese pizza.
Will probably make pasghetti for dinner.

speaking of cravings - I ate about half a bag of ginger snaps while fighting with my sister last night. No good.

Trader Joes has ginger snaps that are made of actual foods, so you might want to give them a try.

And considering how easy it is to make tacos, there's no excuse for getting runs at the boarder.

Fearful? Don't be. Obtain meat, however you do that. Cook, drain, chop, drain again, freeze. Grate cheese, refrigerate. Ok, the prep is done. Any time you feel the taco madness coming, reach for your frozen chopped (or shredded) meat, you grated cheese, your veggies of choice, and now all you have to do is bake or fry a tortilla. Easiest way is to brush them lightly with oil, then drape them over wires of the top shelf (with a pan on the second shelf, in case any fall or drip - if they drip, you used WAAAAY TOO MUCH OIL!) . Keep the temperature as low as it goes, and plan to leave them there a while. Is this correct an authentic? Nope. That would involve putting the meat and cheese inside the tortillia, pinning it closed with a couple of toothpicks, deep frying them, then removing the toothpicks and adding the cold ingredients. A couple of drops of a good chiplotle sauce, and you'll never touch another things from Taco Hell.

                                My personal favorite(s):

Asiago and crab, with a light drizzle of any good heavy mexican sour cream, raw spinach, and a quartered cherry tomato.

Smoked chicken, caraway Havarti, avocado, raw spinach, a quartered cherry tomato, and upto eight drops of scotch bonnet juice.

Bacon, swiss cheese, romain lettuce, my own horseradish garlic mayo. I also like that burrito style, in a soft wheat tortillia that's been crisped on one side (I use that as the inside).

peanerbudder burritos are also good, if you include honey and/or jam and/or little chocolates.

Now that I live in New Orleans, there is no taco bell anywhee nearby (that wasn't taken out by the storm)
I find myself making tacos several times a week...funny how that goes..everything i cook has a tex-mex flair to it.

Now my horrid addiction is hubig's pies.

It hasn't gotten that bad so far..but it has potential.
