Good way to keep tabs on what we consume during the day.
I used to keep one religiously when I was younger and smarter and a strict vegetarian with a regular exercise regimine. It gave me something to write in my journal (which I also kept religiously)
Here is mine for today...feel free to post your own..
Tuesday Feb 22
Today was not a horrible food day, but it could have been better, likesay I had no fresh fruit or veggies but I did not eat too much junk food:
Breakfast: Coffee w soymilk
Lunch: My parents took me to a thai buffet where I tried many various and sundry tofu dishes but did not allow myself to get stuffed
Dinner: El Rey, the local Cuban diner Fish tacos rice and beans
The rice and beans were not vegetarian. Better luck for me tomorrow.
It used to be so much easier to be a vegetarian when I was younger will power wise...I am aiming to be veggie again and even give up fish if possible...bah! I love fish!

Thu, February 24, 2005 - 9:46 AMI still need to cut back on the late nite eating, because whatever I eat late at night generally isn't healthy. What happens is my boyfriend who stays up till 7 a.m. gets the munchies so I fix something for him and have some myself. Last night it was Ramen. bah!
At least I stayed veggie. -

Sun, February 27, 2005 - 11:08 AMYou know, this is really helpful, reading this just now made me think about what all I've consumed in the past few days, mostly coffee, GT's Kombucha, twinkies, a dingdong, microwave popcorn, a big fat truffle, a Mission St. veggie burrito, and greek yogurt.....WEIRD!!!
It's good to think about, though, My eating habits have gotten really out there.
I like this tribe, thanks Poopy.

Re: Food Log
Sun, February 27, 2005 - 1:06 PMI'm not even going to talk about what i ate yesterday.
I had an eat everything in sight day. I did have a bowl of salad. trying for balance.
But this morning I had 3 types of fruit and pancake and bacon for breakfast. Feel pretty good about that.
Starting feel a bit sickish. Today i'm going to try and drink some good tea. Which reminds me to add Honey to my grocery list!
you had mentioned weight gain - and I did get the scale out and it just made me icky. -

Re: Food Log
Sun, February 27, 2005 - 5:20 PMYeah..right now my scale is being used to prop the door open under the bathroom sink where my cat Hatey is having kittens.
I am avoiding using it for any other purpose.
Today I had
coffee,
a balance bar
a poppyseed mini muffin that was given out for free at the grocery store
A pria bar
AAAAAnd Cheese filled pasta shells with marinara sauce
My last meal made me feel incredibly sleepy, but it has sorta been one of those days...

Re: Food Log
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 3:34 AMthat night i had a cuppa soup and then later a half a really greasy French bread pizza...yuck! it was a very small piece, but very fatty...
Yesterday (Feb 28) was a kinda ok day for me.
Breakfast was actually lunch:
1/2 veggie sandwich
soy cuban latte
Dinner was very late:
Steamed spinach dumplings
MooShoo vegetables...yum! My favorite of all chinese foods! They fold these yummy stir fried veggies into these really thin tortillas.
It is 5:30 am and I am awake because my boyfriend had to fly to New Orleans and I helped him get ready.
I just ate 1 leftover moo shoo (late nite snack) and am going back to bed till 8 a.m.
Need to cut out this eating right before bed thing that I do so often. -

Re: Food Log
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 9:31 PMToday was a kinda bad food day. Went out with folksies for mom's birthday. had Spinach enchiladas rice, beans, guacamole, indulged in guilty pleasure that is the homemade flour tortilla....For dinner went to independantly owned fast food joint and had sauteed veggie burger with cheese and jalepenos and 1/2 sm. order tater tots...first fried stuff I have had in a while. It was a very greasy meal that left me very tired. I took 2-hour nap this evening.
So far I have admitted I have a problem,
started this tribe to help with it
cut out meat and haven't eaten chips since I started this tribe
Have cut way way back on fried stuff and fast food.
Now I need to make a conscious effort to include more fresh raw foods in my diet and cut out still yet more bad snacking.
baby steps.
I also ineed to incorperate an exercise regemine into my day, but that is a whole other kettle of worms.
There is this book that I read that said no diet can compensate for lack of exercise, but exercise can compensate for lack of a healthy diet. -

Re: Food Log
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 9:33 PMwanted to also mention that for my spinach enchilada lunch i ate less than half my plate and gave the other half to my boyfriend. Otherwise I would be in far worse shape right now. -

Re: Food Log
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 9:34 PMby the way..my boyfriend missed his plane..that is why he was there so I could give him my leftovers. -

Re: Food Log
Thu, March 3, 2005 - 11:47 PMSilly food log. My diet has been slipping as of late. I will not list everything I have eaten, just the bad stuff..
Last night, my boyfriend and I split a cheese quesadilla at taco cabana..this was around 11:30 p.m. or so.
Tonight it has been pizza and evil sodium-packed exotic asian soup...Fancier that oodles of noodles. This was some kind of Udon deal with two packets of stuff. One with some assorted veggies and the other with sea weed and assorted dehydrated sea creatures.
I have been eating alot or oranges though, and no chips or fast food (pretending that Taco Cabana does not count as fast food) -
