Re: twinkys
Tue, March 7, 2006 - 7:47 AMi have not eaten those in yEARS..don't have much of a desire to really...but I have gone through phases of mexican pastry gluttony and I used to be slightly addicted to little debbie snack cakes...esp. the swiss rolls...after they have been kept in the freezer for a while and the chcocolate outer layer can be peeled off.
Right now it is girl scout cookie time!
and also I have been slowly gnawing my way through the brick-o-fancy chocolate I got for v-day...I finally had to smash it with a mallet so I could eat it.

Wed, September 6, 2006 - 3:57 AMDiabetes is the number two killer in America right now, right after George Bush. No, wait, I mean, right after heart disease. First you'll want to find out if you're an insulin adict, and no, no kidding, wish I was. If you are (insulin addicted), you'll need something to give you a comparable rush while you detox. If you just try to change your food habits alone, that might not be enough. The simple route is to use positive imagery and focus yourself on feeling better. Stretch, straighten your spine, turn on some music, open a window, etc., along with the basic food change. More dramatic approaches can include special mood elevating music, yodeling, and/or throwing sausages at people.
Try snacks without processed sugars, i.e. fruit, dried fruit, crackers, nuts, peanuts, roasted grains, dried squid, pickles, and cheese.
If all else fails, resolve not to eat any sweet baked goods you don't make yourself. That means at least you get real food without corn syrup, preservatives, or anything likely to make your genitals grow gills.
