I just blew my entire food budget on one trip to the organic healthy food store - fresh vegetables & fruit, whole grain & sprouted breads & crackers, little yogurts for snacks, etc.
I'm working on a theory here: if I now have no money left to buy junk food, I can only binge on the healthy food in my fridge, and will quit eating out so much too.
I sure hope this works... :)

Fri, September 23, 2005 - 10:10 AMYep..I reckon it is easy to blow one's entire food budget pretty quickly at the organic healthy food store.
Makes me nostalgic for the days when I lived down the street from Whole Foods and consequently would shop there all the time...I twas a lot cheaper back then. They had not yet moved into their new Giganto super-ultra yuppie location....I also lived down the steet from the Mexican grocery store where i could literally buy a few days worth of groceries for under 5 bucks. Back then eating healthy and cheaply was easy and fun and I was always getting exercise.. -

Didn't work so much. A few days ago I went to my boyfriend's for chickenwings & icecream, then returned home to find wilting lettuce in the fridge (had to throw it out.)
I suspect my plan would work better if junkfood weren't simply offereed up to me on a plate like that ;)

Mon, October 3, 2005 - 9:27 AMI know how you feel.
I just started a second job once a week. It's at a reception hall on bingo night, so they feed us a meal (added bonus), but (with the exception of a salad), it is all bad for you. Last night, I had a fried veggie basket. It was so good. I just can't resist free, easily acessible junkfood. -
